Hello, I'm Ashley
-
“I don’t know how I can I get through the everyday…”
-
“I can’t do this.”
-
“I never expected to feel this way.”
-
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”
If any of these resonate with you, I am glad you are here. I know from personal and professional experience that when anxiety, stress, depression, burnout, sleep issues, chronic illness & pain, and relationship issues are interfering, how to get through the everyday can feel so frustrating, exhausting, depleting, and chaotic. Most of my clients don’t really know how they got to this state, or how to get out of or through it. But people who are at a place of wanting to do what they can to change things and willing to trust the process try therapy to have a different life really do find counselling helps.
I’ve worked for years in community and in patient mental health plus being a Registered Clinical Counsellor and specialize in treating mental health for health care professionals, university students/ young adults, and people aged 50+. I also specialize in chronic illness and pain. I know from personal and professional experience that meeting people where they are at, honouring the sense it’s your life, not mine, and being there to follow your lead but also to collaborate with you on building self care, skills, routine, and supports is the best way to help people take back control and capacity in their lives. I love being a part of people’s lightbulb moments, shifts, and “I never thought of it that way!” realizations, and helping and supporting people through some of their toughest times and crisis.
Working with me means you have someone to guide and listen to you, help you process what’s happening, support you in making empowered choices, build your toolbox, and work through your problems to help you build a balanced and caring life. You have someone with you in a safe, non-judgemental, approachable, validating way who will say what you NEED to hear (which may not always be what you want to hear, but it will be clear and direct and caring!).
Outside of the therapy room, I am a mom and have a husband and a furbaby. I love to spend time with friends and family, keep active, and travel.
I have daytime/ afternoon availability Thursdays & Saturdays and offer a free consultation.
